An old rustic annex transformed into a residence

The project involved the renovation and repurposing of an abandoned rustic outbuilding, transforming it into a refuge away from the city, immersed in the mountain landscape.

The aim was to reuse local materials and maintain the original shapes and openings, adapting the new project to the existing structure. The original stone was salvaged, while the damaged wooden elements were replaced with new reclaimed wood. The stone frames of the existing openings were enhanced and completed with iron window frames.

Inside, the compact spaces were redesigned to meet the client's needs. The living area extends entirely on the ground floor, while the upper floor takes advantage of the generous internal height to create multi-level relaxation areas, utilizing materials and objects native to the area.

Outside, a rock retaining wall houses the fireplace, allowing you to fully enjoy the outdoor space and the surrounding mountain landscape.
